it’s been awhile

looking over my website for the first time today in awhile, i remembered i’d written a draft of a blog post and never pushed it live. oops! that’s why my first post is backdated to june 1, but published january 20.

it’s strange, an odd feeling to wonder whether what i write about will be important to anyone; whether there’s a purpose or a need for it, even for myself. it’s feeling like a worthy experiment, maybe it will yield some sense of release. in any case, i’ll give it a go here.

i haven’t written any new music in what feels like an awfully long time. some arranging here and there, more often than not for the chapel street band (check us out!), which always feels good and worthwhile, and satisfying.

it would be a great exercise to take some of the word salad i tossed into one of my songwriting notebooks and seeing if something might come out of it after so many months.
