PERCUSSION INSTRUCTION
Prior to becoming a full-time choral director, my primary teaching outlets were based in individual and ensemble percussion instruction. I specialized in concert and keyboard percussion education primarily in the realm of marching music and pageantry arts.
For three seasons and several regional and national titles I served as the Assistant Director of Percussion and music arranger for the King Philip Regional High School Pride and Passion marching band and Indoor Winter Percussion Front Ensembles. Working closely with the Director of Music and Director of Percussion, I crafted instructional methods and custom musical arrangements for the front ensemble each season, resulting in back-to-back High Percussion honors at the US Bands National Invitational Championships, and 5th and 3rd place finishes in ‘08 and ‘09 WGI Open Class Percussion Finals.
I also have extensive experience in DCI, having performed for six consecutive seasons as a member of the Boston Crusaders front ensemble, and after aging-out of the activity, I was hired to be a part of the front ensemble instructional team, and a co-designer.
I am passionate about healthy technique for percussionists of all ages, and am available to work with your percussionists of any experience level in ensemble and individual settings. Percussionists are musicians too, and as someone with a diverse musical toolkit, I am here to help your percussionists ignite their sparks, and bring focused energy to your ensembles.
